In the midst of India\u2019s deadliest aviation tragedy in recent memory, a glimmer of hope and miracle has emerged \u2014 40-year-old Vishwas Kumar Ramesh<\/strong> is the sole survivor<\/strong> of the Air India plane crash that claimed over 200 lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A British citizen originally from India, Vishwas had been visiting his family and was returning to London with his elder brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh (45)<\/strong>. He was seated on seat 11A<\/strong> of Air India flight AI-171<\/strong>, which crashed just seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking from a hospital bed , Vishwas said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I regained consciousness, I was surrounded by dead bodies. I was terrified. I got up and ran. The plane was in pieces all around me. Just 30 seconds after takeoff, there was a loud bang and everything happened so fast. I couldn\u2019t even understand what had occurred.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Vishwas sustained injuries to his chest, eyes, and legs<\/strong>, and is currently undergoing treatment at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital<\/strong>. Fighting back tears, he revealed he still hasn\u2019t found his brother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were returning together. He was seated elsewhere. I can\u2019t find him now. Please help me locate him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Larger Tragedy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The crash occurred around 1:40 PM<\/strong> on Thursday, just minutes after the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner<\/strong> departed from Ahmedabad en route to London. The aircraft crashed into the residential buildings of BJ Medical College<\/strong>, housing dozens of doctors. So far, 204 fatalities<\/strong> have been confirmed, and the death toll may rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rescue teams found the aircraft tail embedded in the top floors of the building. Several resident doctors were injured. The impact site was strewn with debris and smoke engulfed the sky as firefighters battled the flames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
