Miracle Survivor: The Only Passenger to Escape Air India Crash Says – “When I Woke Up, There Were Dead Bodies All Around”
अहमदाबाद, 12 जून 2025।
जहां पूरा देश एयर इंडिया के भीषण विमान हादसे से स्तब्ध है, वहीं इस त्रासदी के मलबे से एक चमत्कारी खबर सामने आई है। 40 वर्षीय विश्वास कुमार रमेश इस हादसे में जीवित बच निकले — और वह अकेले ऐसे यात्री हैं जिन्हें ज़िंदा निकाला गया है।
विश्वास कुमार, जो मूल रूप से भारत के रहने वाले हैं लेकिन बीते 20 वर्षों से लंदन में रह रहे हैं, अपने भाई अजय कुमार रमेश (45) के साथ भारत यात्रा पर आए थे और एयर इंडिया की फ्लाइट AI-171 में अहमदाबाद से लंदन के लिए रवाना हुए थे। वे फ्लाइट में 11ए सीट पर बैठे थे। लेकिन टेकऑफ के तीस सेकंड के भीतर ही विमान क्रैश हो गया।
विश्वास ने अस्पताल में ‘हिन्दुस्तान टाइम्स’ को बताया:
“जब मेरी आंख खुली, तो मेरे चारों ओर लाशें थीं। मैं घबरा गया, हड़बड़ा कर उठा और भागने की कोशिश की। प्लेन के परखच्चे चारों तरफ बिखरे थे। उड़ान के तीस सेकंड बाद जोरदार धमाका हुआ और फिर सब कुछ खत्म हो गया। ये सब इतना जल्दी हुआ कि कुछ समझने का मौका नहीं मिला।”
वह बताते हैं कि उन्हें सीने, आंख और पैरों पर गंभीर चोटें आई हैं और अहमदाबाद सिविल अस्पताल में उनका इलाज चल रहा है। विश्वास ने बताया कि उनका भाई अजय विमान में किसी और पंक्ति में बैठे थे और अब तक उनका कोई पता नहीं चला। वे भावुक होकर बोले, “कृपया मेरे भाई को ढूंढ़ने में मेरी मदद करें।”
पृष्ठभूमि में भीषण त्रासदी
यह वही हादसा है जिसमें 242 यात्रियों में से 204 की अब तक मौत की पुष्टि हो चुकी है। विमान बोइंग 787-8 ड्रीमलाइनर था, जो गुरुवार को दोपहर 1:38 बजे अहमदाबाद से लंदन के लिए रवाना हुआ था, लेकिन टेकऑफ के मात्र दो मिनट बाद ही अहमदाबाद के मेघाणी नगर इलाके में बीजे मेडिकल कॉलेज की रिहायशी इमारतों से टकराकर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया।
इस भयानक मंजर में चारों ओर चीख-पुकार मच गई। विमान के गिरते ही उसमें आग लग गई और आसपास की इमारतों को भी भारी नुकसान हुआ।

In the midst of India’s deadliest aviation tragedy in recent memory, a glimmer of hope and miracle has emerged — 40-year-old Vishwas Kumar Ramesh is the sole survivor of the Air India plane crash that claimed over 200 lives.
A British citizen originally from India, Vishwas had been visiting his family and was returning to London with his elder brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh (45). He was seated on seat 11A of Air India flight AI-171, which crashed just seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
Speaking from a hospital bed , Vishwas said:
“When I regained consciousness, I was surrounded by dead bodies. I was terrified. I got up and ran. The plane was in pieces all around me. Just 30 seconds after takeoff, there was a loud bang and everything happened so fast. I couldn’t even understand what had occurred.”
Vishwas sustained injuries to his chest, eyes, and legs, and is currently undergoing treatment at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. Fighting back tears, he revealed he still hasn’t found his brother.
“We were returning together. He was seated elsewhere. I can’t find him now. Please help me locate him.”
The Larger Tragedy
The crash occurred around 1:40 PM on Thursday, just minutes after the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner departed from Ahmedabad en route to London. The aircraft crashed into the residential buildings of BJ Medical College, housing dozens of doctors. So far, 204 fatalities have been confirmed, and the death toll may rise.
Rescue teams found the aircraft tail embedded in the top floors of the building. Several resident doctors were injured. The impact site was strewn with debris and smoke engulfed the sky as firefighters battled the flames.
